Snickle led Alice and her children out of Scorn. He headed north to Hounds Head, while most of Scorn's refugees headed east toward Eastgate. Early in their journey a couple driving a one horse cart passed them by.
MelRakki, Marvic, Bo, and Edgar were also headed to Hounds Head. A band of adventurers looking to establish themselves. They had their first encounter with an elderly, backwoods couple. Three men hung from the trees along the road. The couple had cut down one of the corpses and the woman carefully flayed the skin to put the strips into a basket.
Bo and the woman got into an argument about the ethical treatment of a corpse. She did not back down. The party left without incident.
The adventurers then came across a scene with a broken cart, dead horse, and with a short investigation, spotted corpses of a man and woman. Soon afterwards they were attacked by an owlbear. After defeating the owlbear the party harvested four viz and 200lbs of owlbear meat.
After the battle, Snickle came upon the scene and cautiously approached the party before joining them. They salvaged what equipment remained in the cart but Snickle was unable to repair the cart.
Edgar found the owlbear's cave. He explored it himself, found a large mound of bones, both humanoid and animal. Amongst the bones he found a silver ring with a small gem inset.
Later Snickle and Bo explored the cave. Snickle dug through the bones further and found an additional 29sp. From the back of the cave they heard a loud squeak and exited the cave.
The party barricaded the cave mouth and tried to smoke out what was inside, but quickly put it out as night set in. They decided to camp along the road for the night. With no fire. It began to rain and soon afterwards is when they heard something flying overhead.
